Enhancing Online Shoe Shopping with VPNs: Key Considerations

In the digital age, online shoe shopping has become a staple for convenience and variety. However, this convenience comes with concerns about privacy, security, and access. Here, we explore how using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) can significantly enhance your online shoe shopping experience.

Protecting Sensitive Information

One of the primary benefits of using a VPN while shopping for shoes online is the enhanced security it offers. VPNs use robust encryption methods to secure your data transmissions, safeguarding your sensitive personal and financial information from cyber threats. In an era where online shopping frauds and data breaches are rampant, using a VPN adds an essential layer of protection, ensuring that your credit card details and personal information remain confidential.

Accessing a Wider Range of Products

VPNs are a gateway to global e-commerce platforms, allowing you to bypass geographical restrictions imposed by online shoe stores. This feature is particularly beneficial for shoe enthusiasts looking to access exclusive international markets or limited-edition releases that may not be available in their region. Additionally, shopping in different markets can lead to significant savings due to currency rate advantages.

Combating Price Discrimination and Targeted Ads

Retailers often use your location and browsing history to personalize prices and advertisements. A VPN helps in maintaining a level playing field by masking your IP address, thus preventing online retailers from implementing dynamic pricing based on your browsing habits or location. This ensures that you are exposed to fair prices and are not subjected to intrusive, targeted advertisements based on your past shopping behavior.

Maintaining Anonymity and Privacy

Using a VPN while shopping for shoes online helps in maintaining your anonymity. It prevents online retailers from tracking your browsing activities and creating a profile based on your preferences and habits. This is particularly important in an era where data collection and user profiling by e-commerce sites are commonplace, raising serious privacy concerns.

Best Practices and Considerations When Using VPNs for Shoe Shopping

While VPNs offer numerous benefits for online shoe shoppers, it’s crucial to choose a reliable and secure VPN service. A reliable VPN for iPhone can provide the necessary security and privacy features without compromising the speed or quality of your internet connection. Furthermore, users should be aware of the legal and ethical considerations regarding the use of VPNs in their region, especially when accessing geo-restricted content. It’s also important to ensure that the VPN service does not keep logs of your online activities for a truly private shopping experience.

In conclusion, utilizing a VPN service while shopping for shoes online provides enhanced security, privacy, and access to a wider range of products. It empowers consumers to shop globally without fear of data breaches, ensures equitable pricing, and maintains user anonymity. As online shopping continues to evolve, integrating VPNs into your shopping routine can be a game-changer in how you experience e-commerce.

Sofia Richie Grainge just stepped out in Mary Jane flats, which further proves they’re the It-shoe of the season

It’s officially autumn (although the weather might not necessarily agree right now) and that means one thing – it’s time to start transitioning your wardrobe to reflect the colder season ahead.

Attentions turn to our capsule wardrobe and making the necessary adjustments. Out with the summer dresses and in with layers – preferably one of the best trench coats. You’ll also want to consider keeping things fresh with the addition of a new piece. And, if there’s one trend in particular that we think will stand the test of time, it’s the Mary Jane flat.

It’s no secret that flat shoes spiked in popularity this year with ballet flats become omnipresent over summer, but now it’s time for an autumn friendly alternative – the Mary Jane flat.

The shoe style isn’t exactly new, but rather a modern twist on the classic heeled shape, characterised by the smooth, simple closed-toe design and trademark bar fastening across the foot.  In short, it’s a laid-back yet still effortlessly elegant take on autumn footwear.

And we’re clearly not the only ones who think so. Celebs can’t get enough of the trend at the moment, with Sofia Richie Grainge recently stepping out in the perfect early autumn combo of a floaty Prada nightgown and a pair of Le Monde Beryl brown velvet flat Mary Janes.

Why Alexander McQueen

Utter the words ‘Alexander McQueen’ to any fashion enthusiast and their eyes are sure to light up. The luxury house and late designer have become symbols of ingenuity and innovation, responsible for some of the most memorable fashion moments over the last few decades.

McQueen himself has been described as one of fashion’s greatest showmen, having pioneered the popularity of the fashion show spectacle. Look to any list of iconic runways throughout history and Alexander McQueen’s Spring 1999 catwalk will undoubtedly be on it. Shalom Harlow’s staring role being spray painted atop a rotating platform is still regularly referenced today by editors and designers, alike.

The house’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection complete with reptilian-inspired designs and those incredibly unique arched ‘Armadillo’ shoes is another one for the history books and can be credited as the moment that helped this particular editor fall in love with the fantasy of fashion.

Of course, when it comes to iconic designs, there is no shortage of standouts to choose from, and while it might not be practical to wear some couture creations on a daily basis, you can take the brand’s wearable art with you in the form of its accessories.

Indeed, the house’s statement-making handbag collection offers customers a way to bring the magic of McQueen into their everyday lives, and the new additions have all the hallmarks of It-bags in the making.

The Biker Jewelled Satchel

First launched in 2018, Alexander McQueen’s rectangular jewelled satchel bag has been reinvented a few times since its inception, with bold cross-body straps, different hardware additions and varied fabrications, appearing in several different combinations.

Though, throughout all of this reimaging, the one element that has remained constant is the item’s distinctive four-ring feature. Also seen on the Jewelled Hobo bag below, this hardware has become a hallmark of McQueen’s accessories.

As the brand describes, the knuckle feature was first introduced by McQueen himself and was inspired by London street culture, created to “juxtapose urban toughness with the beauty and refinement of jewellery.” Each duster has four rings, which are topped with contrasting symbols, including two skulls placed alongside a crystal and a flower-covered design.

Over the years, these symbols have all become synonymous with Alexander McQueen’s collection, though none more prominently than the skull motif.

As an element in McQueen’s creations, the skull symbol can be traced back as early as 1992, when the designer used the feature in his Central Saint Martins graduate collection entitled, ‘Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims.’ The skull motif has since become a part of the brand’s house codes, used across everything from scarves to jewellery and handbags.

Featuring details that have been plucked straight from the house codes, The Jewelled Hobo bag would be instantly-recognisable to any fan of the brand. Utilising the label’s knuckleduster hardware and skull motif, the accessory is quintessential McQueen.

Originally debuted as a part of the house’s Pre-Spring 2023 collection, the Jewelled Hobo is one of the brand’s newer bags, though it has already solidified itself as a favourite in its short history. Recently, the bag has been toted by the likes of Naomi Campbell, Taylor Russel and Michelle Yeoh, while It-girl Sadie Sink also appears holding the bag in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 campaign.

McQueen’s accessories are more than just bags. They’re portable pieces of artwork that can be taken with you, holding all the symbolism and spirit evoked by the label since its creation in 1992

According to McQueen, the bag’s facetted triangular silhouette was inspired by the large stone that sits within the knuckleduster design, reflecting the flat surfaces that sit on the diamond shape. Meanwhile, the four-ring hardware has been borrowed from McQueen’s previous designs, emulating the aesthetic of the Jewelled Biker Satchel above.

With a little research, it becomes clear McQueen’s accessories are more than just bags. They’re portable pieces of artwork that can be taken with you, holding all the symbolism and spirit evoked by the label since its creation in 1992. Not for the faint of heart, McQueen’s Jewelled Hobo and Biker Satchell bag should be carried by those intent on making a statement.

This timeless shoe is the secret to French girl chic and it’s Hailey Bieber’s go-to

It’s no secret that French women are the epitome of chic. But exactly how French ladies make their style appear so effortless is the secret we’ve long been searching for. Now, thanks to Hailey Bieber, we’re one step closer.

Fortunately for us, the secret to stepping into your most stylish self is low-maintenance, painless, and doesn’t require trying to appear as though everything comes naturally to you while walking in six-inch heels. In fact, it’s all in a shoe.

“Moccasins or loafers are a must-have staple in any French women’s wardrobe”, says Chrysoline de Gastines, CEO of Parisian brand Balzac Paris.

Surprised to hear the secret to dressing like a Parisian is all in a pair of loafers? It’s been a long time coming. While French women have been pairing most of their looks with loafers and moccasins for years, flat shoes have quickly become the trend of the year—thanks to our newfound obsession with quiet luxury.

(Image credit: Getty Images / Rachpoot/Bauer-Griffin / Contributor)

You can’t have missed Sofia Richie’s wedding in the South of France earlier this year, where quiet luxury was surely the theme. Since then, TikTok dubbed it “old money style” which instantly made the flat loafer a must-have item.

As with everything Sofia Richie wears—much like this iconic Missoni zig zag outfit—loafers are totally timeless. And, it’s highly likely that you already have a pair hiding in the back of your wardrobe. They tie together every outfit: whether it’s jeans and a Loewe vest, a summer dress or a tailored look for those office days. My winner for French style is a wide-leg linen trouser and loafer combination.

Loafers are definitely having their moment and they’ve quickly become Hailey Beiber’s go-to shoe. She’s pretty much worn them all summer and has proven that loafers look as good as they do with jeans and a white tee, as they do with shorts and socks.

And Bieber’s not the only one blazing a trail for the loafer as the shoe of the season. Selena Gomez took to her instagram stories recently in a pair of chunky loafers from Charles & Keith, while Dua Lipa, Dakota Johnson and Bella Hadid have also jumped on the trend. If that’s not proof that loafers can pull together any and every look, we’re not sure what is.

Now is the time to invest in a trusted pair that will see you through the end of summer, right into Autumn (when it’s cold, pair them with a sheer pair of socks). They are well worth the investment as you will reach for them year after year. Just as French fashion never goes out of style, neither have loafers and now it makes sense – it’s a French women’s style secret.

Keep scrolling for the best loafers, as chosen by a shopping writer. I’ve looked at over 100 pairs, from the best French fashion brands to high street stores, and these are my favourites.

Dua Lipa just confirmed this

In the realm of trending Spring/Summer 2023 footwear, there are quite a few contenders in the running for top spot. Adidas’ Samba trainers are both incredibly popular and incredibly difficult to get a hold of right now, while Vans’ monochromatic sneakers have It-girls worldwide heralding the return of the skater aesthetic.

However, sneakers aside, Dua Lipa is now making a case for an entirely different summer shoe, taking to the streets of London in the ever-divisive ballet flat.

The star was spotted arriving at Chiltern Fire House over the weekend, wearing a relaxed look that comprised of a white button-down shirt, vintage wash jeans, a Gucci Jackie bag and black ballet pumps in the form of Maison Margiela’s Tabi Ballerina Flats.

The outfit oozed effortless cool, and is a far cry from the glitzy stage costumes and saturated-shade party looks we’re used to seeing from the singer.

These statement sunglasses are the celebrity-approved item everyone is wearing right now

When it comes to brands making an impact on the fashion industry, there is no denying that Loewe is everywhere right now.

From its iconic runway sets to its ever-popular celebrity clientele, the Jonathan Anderson-helmed brand seems to be going from strength the strength. Over the last few years, we’ve seen Loewe’s instantly recognisable basket bag become a staple amongst fashion editors, while the Spanish brand’s logo-embroidered tank top launched last year, instantly achieving sell-out status. Not to mention, Loewe’s cracked egg and nail varnish heels have become ubiquitous on social media.

Indeed, the brand certainly knows how to create statement items destined to top the wishlists of chic women all over the world, and it seems this summer, everyone is after Loewe’s incredibly unique sunglasses.

From Emily Ratajkowski to Tessa Thompson, Sofia Richie Grainge and more, so many of the world’s coolest women are investing in Loewe specs right now, and we don’t blame them one bit.

While on her much-talked-about honeymoon, Sofia Richie Grainge was seen in the brand’s flower sunglasses. Interestingly, Tessa Thompson was seen in the exact same pair late last year.

Meanwhile, Emily Ratajkowski was spotted out in New York wearing the brand’s inflated cat eye sunglasses, while Kylie Jenner was also spotted in the round iteration of the inflated shades.

Celebrities aside, influencers and industry insiders have been just as keen on the lenses, with front rows at fashion week filled with Loewe’s unique designs.

Of course, the evidence is not just anecdotal. Searches for “Loewe sunglasses” have risen 198% in the last twelve months, while specific searches for the brand’s inflated sunglasses and flower sunglasses have risen +220% and +1,600% respectively.

It is clear that Loewe’s sunglass range is making just as much of an impact as the brand’s shoes and handbags right now. We wonder what innovative, internet-breaking accessory the brand will come up with next?

Barbiecore is back and it

You would have to be living under a rock not to have heard of Barbiecore.

Forget Tomato Girl Summer and the Vanilla Girl aesthetic, this millennial summer fashion trend is taking the world by storm (again), so get ready to see your nearest and dearest dressing like plastic Mattel dolls.

Inspired by next week’s release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, the retro trend is centred around the distinct “Barbie pink” hue.

And following the four Barbie trailers and viral snaps of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling kitted out as Barbie and Ken in neon athleisure, the trend has already extended to include Barbie-appropriate accessories too. We’re talking giant phones, hairdryer handbags, high ponytails, rollerblades and retro shades.

Sales of scrunchies (one of Barbie’s signature accessories) have had the biggest surge, seeing an increase of 1099%. Other niche Barbie sales spikes were blonde hair dye, which increased by 47%, and leotards which have seen a 12% spike.

Kate Middleton

Wimbledon is one of our favourite times of the year, not just because of the Pimm’s or strawberries and cream, but because of all the polished looks. Celebrities, royals and the players go all out for the occasion; but it’s always Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon outfit that we eagerly await.

The Princess never disappoints, and this year was no different. Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon outfit sells out almost immediately, and last year we regretted not adding her high street hat to basket for the rest of the summer. For Kate Middleton’s first Wimbledon appearance today, the Princess went all white, with one unmissable touch: a mint green Balmain blazer. Giving us serious 80’s power dressing vibes that we need for our next office wardrobe update; we knew Catherine’s Wimbledon appearance would give us all the inspiration we need this summer.

Princess Kate actually got in trouble for breaking Wimbledon rules last week, but was a ray of sunshine in the rain today in SW19. As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the Princess attends the tournament each year, and is usually seen in the royal box. Today’s Balmain blazer looks so similar to her late mother-in-law’s 80’s look that we had to do a double take, and now we are even more in love.

(Image credit: Getty Images / Neil Mockford / Contributor)

Today, Kate Middleton’s opted for the typical Wimbledon all-white look with a powerful addition. The mint green Balmain blazer really stole the show. Showing us how to do power dressing right, we can’t decide if we love the pleated midi skirt or the blazer more.

The perfect 80’s look, the oversized lapels and bold buttons throw us back to the good times and remind us of Princess Diana’s Trooping The Colour look back in June of 1988.

How cute is this photo? We can’t get over how similar the two are and adore Prince Harry’s matching green and white look. It’s not the first time Kate Middleton has taken inspiration from her late mother in law, she has previously been seen wearing jewellery passed down to her and Princess Diana was reportedly Kate Middleton’s childhood style icon.

We love how the Princess totally skipped the 90’s fashion trend and went straight to the 80’s and now we want to, too. Shop Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon outfit below and all our favourite Kate Middleton inspired green blazers. While you’re here, don’t miss our guide on what to wear to Wimbledon this summer.

The Princess’ Balmain blazer is sold out online, but her Mulberry bag and heels are still in stock, so be quick.

Sarah Jessica Parker found this Carrie outfit in a thrift shop, according to the AJLT costume designers

And Just Like That, Season 2 returned to our screens over the last few weeks, and despite the fact we’ve only seen the first three episodes, the new season is already proving to be just as fashionable as the last.

From Valentino couture gowns to Hermès Birkin bags, the series is certainly not lacking in over-the-drop luxury designer looks. But would you believe one of the season’s key outfits was actually found in a thrift store?

Yes, according to the show’s costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santaigo, the bright blue snowsuit Carrie Bradshaw wears in the new season was actually a find Sarah Jessica Parker tracked down herself in a charity shop.

And apparently, this is not an anomaly…
