JLo just launched her own line of footwear and all we can say is wow

Jennifer Lopez may be a singer, actress and the reason Google images was invented (opens in new tab), but as of today, the highly accomplished multi-hyphenate can now add another addition to her resume: footwear designer.

Yes, JLO (opens in new tab)has teamed up with US retailer Revolve to launch an exclusive collection of footwear. The collection is set to launch in three separate drops, the first of which is available to buy now.

Of course, the aesthetic is pure JLo, which means it is complete with glamour a plenty. Think sky-high platform heels, crystal-embellished boots (opens in new tab) and feather-adorned sandals, all of which are party-ready wardrobe addition.

The star took to Instagram over the weekend to celebrate the collab and offer her 238 million followers a sneak peek at the collection. In the caption, Lopez wrote  “I love shoes! Can anyone relate?” Over 500,000 people subsequently liked that post, presumably agreeing with her notion.

Revolve also hosted a party in honour of the collaboration. The star-studded event included appearances by Tiffany Haddish, Chloe and Halle Bailey, and of course, Jennifer Lopez herself.

Of the collaboration, Revolve’s Chief Brand Officer Raissa Gerona, said, “At REVOLVE, collaborating with influential tastemakers in fashion and entertainment has been one of the keys to our success. Through these partnerships, we are able to provide our customers with exclusive products that they can only purchase from REVOLVE.”

She continued, “Jennifer Lopez is a pop culture icon and an inspiration to millions of people all over the world, so there was no question of doing an exclusive collaboration with her line, JLO Jennifer Lopez. We’re so excited to introduce the new line of footwear.”

Mango just launched a circular denim collection, made from recycled and recyclable materials

It’s a widely known fact that denim (opens in new tab) is one of the more environmentally taxing materials in our wardrobe. In fact, Good on You (opens in new tab) reports that Levi’s once stated that producing a single pair of jeans requires more than 3,000 litres of water.

That’s why, we’re always on the lookout for sustainably made (opens in new tab) denim, and today Mango just launched its own iteration created with circularity in mind. Made from materials that are both recycled and recyclable (opens in new tab), Mango has thought about every step of a garment’s life cycle within this collection. The range has been made from a single type of fibre and contains minimal trimmings, which means the items can easily be recycled in years to come if need be.

Of course, this is just one step in the right direction for Mango. As a brand, Mango aims to become increasingly sustainable as the years go on, and by 2030, the brand has said that it hopes all of its garments will be made from recycled fibres or materials of a sustainable origin (opens in new tab)

For the circular denim campaign, Mango has teamed up with model Indira Scott, who explained why being the face of a recyclable collection really resonated with her. “I just remember my developmental ages like it was kind of the birthing of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle,'” Scott said.

“I feel like for me, personally—and I think a lot of people around my age relate—feeling this kind of utter responsibility to take care of our planet because we could be the last generation that’s really going to affect how the next generations live.”

From cargo trouser (opens in new tab) silhouettes to denim blazers and the cutest cropped jacket, keep scrolling to shop Mango’s new circular denim collection below.

Rixo launched its new collection today, and we

Rixo’s new collection launches are always much-anticipated events. Over the last eight years, the brand’s founders, Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey, have honed their design craft and become purveyors of perfect dresses (opens in new tab). Unsurprisingly, the brand has gained hoards of Rixo-loving fans in the process.

Today marks a new era for the brand, as Rixo will be moving away from its previous model of bi-weekly drops, to instead start launching collections monthly. For January, the label has aptly named its range ‘New Beginnings,’ and here at Marie Claire, we were offered a sneak peek.

Filled with daisy prints (a symbol of new beginnings), Rixo’s January collection epitomises everything we have come to love about the brand—vibrant patterns (opens in new tab) and signature silhouettes included. Our editorial team were lucky enough to try the collection ahead of today’s launch, and (spoiler alert!) we were certainly impressed.

Over the last few seasons, Rixo has made strides to ensure its collections are more inclusive than ever. The brand launched an even more diverse selection of extended sizes (opens in new tab) last September and now caters to a range between size 6 and size 24. “People come back to Rixo because they remember how good they felt wearing it,” co-founder Henrietta Rix told Marie Claire at the time.

The feeling of a Rixo dress is certainly one that stays with you, as our editors learned this week. Keep scrolling to see our editors try on Rixo’s new collection and read our honest, unfiltered thoughts below.
