Kate Middleton

Wimbledon is one of our favourite times of the year, not just because of the Pimm’s or strawberries and cream, but because of all the polished looks. Celebrities, royals and the players go all out for the occasion; but it’s always Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon outfit that we eagerly await.

The Princess never disappoints, and this year was no different. Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon outfit sells out almost immediately, and last year we regretted not adding her high street hat to basket for the rest of the summer. For Kate Middleton’s first Wimbledon appearance today, the Princess went all white, with one unmissable touch: a mint green Balmain blazer. Giving us serious 80’s power dressing vibes that we need for our next office wardrobe update; we knew Catherine’s Wimbledon appearance would give us all the inspiration we need this summer.

Princess Kate actually got in trouble for breaking Wimbledon rules last week, but was a ray of sunshine in the rain today in SW19. As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the Princess attends the tournament each year, and is usually seen in the royal box. Today’s Balmain blazer looks so similar to her late mother-in-law’s 80’s look that we had to do a double take, and now we are even more in love.

Today, Kate Middleton’s opted for the typical Wimbledon all-white look with a powerful addition. The mint green Balmain blazer really stole the show. Showing us how to do power dressing right, we can’t decide if we love the pleated midi skirt or the blazer more.

The perfect 80’s look, the oversized lapels and bold buttons throw us back to the good times and remind us of Princess Diana’s Trooping The Colour look back in June of 1988.

How cute is this photo? We can’t get over how similar the two are and adore Prince Harry’s matching green and white look. It’s not the first time Kate Middleton has taken inspiration from her late mother in law, she has previously been seen wearing jewellery passed down to her and Princess Diana was reportedly Kate Middleton’s childhood style icon.

We love how the Princess totally skipped the 90’s fashion trend and went straight to the 80’s and now we want to, too. Shop Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon outfit below and all our favourite Kate Middleton inspired green blazers. While you’re here, don’t miss our guide on what to wear to Wimbledon this summer.

The Princess’ Balmain blazer is sold out online, but her Mulberry bag and heels are still in stock, so be quick.

Kate Middleton just wore her favourite pink blazer again

Kate Middleton’s pink blazer suit is at the top of my wish list every Spring/Summer and this year is no different. The Princess of Wales brought the pop of candy pink we needed this week and showed us how to step into Spring in style.

The Princess always rewears her outfits, so when the royal stepped out in the pink blazer of dreams today, we knew it had to be Alexander McQueen again.

The single-breasted blazer by McQueen (one of Kate’s favourite fashion brands), is becoming a staple in the Princess’ wardrobe. The Duchess wore the same pink McQueen blazer last June when she attended the government roundtable to mark the release of new research from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

Today, Catherine visited the opening of the Foundling Museum, one of her patronages, to meet foster carers and adoptive families. In order to continue her work raising awareness of the importance of loving relationships in childhood development.

Stepping out in a perfect pink ensemble, Kate paired the McQueen pink blazer and trousers with a matching silk pink shirt. Breaking up the all pink with a chunky white belt with white Gianvito Rossi heels. Completing the look with Maria Black pearl drop earrings.

Going on to visit the Kinship charity who support “care-experienced young people to fundamentally change the future direction of their lives. All the support and care we can offer those who have faced real difficulties early in life has such a positive impact on #ShapingUs.” Kate tweeted earlier today.

Pippa Middleton gives us a masterclass in regal dressing for the Coronation of King Charles III

Pippa Middleton looked radiant for the Coronation of King Charles III in a delightful spring ensemble that onlookers called ‘stunning’.

While the Coronation was undoubtedly a momentous moment in history, it’s the big fashion moments that have everybody talking.

From Camilla’s sartorial tribute to the Queen to Kate Middleton’s impressive headpiece and Queen Rania of Jordan’s impeccable spring outfit, the guest list truly encapsulated regal dressing at its best.

And while the Princess of Wales did steal the show with a poignant Alexander McQueen gown that paid tribute to the four nations of the UK, her sister Pippa has also been praised for her chic spring outfit – and this style is a little more occasion-wear-appropriate for the rest of us.

Pippa made a rare appearance at the event, which took place on Saturday 6th May 2023, in a Claire Mischevani ‘Alais’ coat in a pastel yellow shade, complemented perfectly by a statement matching headpiece by Jane Taylor.

It’s no surprise that the whole Middleton family were in attendance at the Coronation, given King Charles’ close relationship with Kate.

Royal fans took to Twitter to show their approval of Pippa’s outfit, with one writing, ‘A moment for Pippa Middleton’s look. Haven’t seen any better pics, but she is stunning.’

Those eagle-eyed fans of the Princess of Wales’ outfits may have noticed that the look is strikingly similar to Catherine’s outfit for Trooping the Colour back in 2019.

The former Duchess of Cambridge wore an Alexander McQueen pastel yellow dress with a matching yellow fascinator by Philip Treacy.

Kate Middleton bucks tradition with a new kind of

Kate Middleton wowed onlookers for the Coronation of King Charles III today (Saturday 6th May, 2023) wearing a statement headpiece that deviates from usual royal protocol.

It’s customary for women within the Royal Family to wear diamond tiaras for such momentous occasions, but the Princess of Wales’ statement piece was actually fashioned from crystal and silver bullion, finished with silver thread works.

While there were earlier reports that suggested the Princess of Wales would opt for a ‘flower crown’ rather than a tiara, we didn’t predict that the departure from tradition would be quite so striking.

As a sweet touch, Catherine’s daughter Princess Charlotte wore a similar crystal headpiece designed by the same milliner, as well as a matching white gown designed by Alexander McQueen.

So why did Catherine make the departure from the traditional tiaras we’ve seen her sporting many times before? How much is it worth? And what’s the story behind the designers? Here’s everything you need to know about Kate Middleton’s Coronation headpiece.

Who designed Kate Middleton’s Coronation headpiece?

The stunning three-dimensional leaf embroidery headpiece is the product of a special collaboration for the event between London-based Milliner and Alexander McQueen, who was the designer for Catherine’s wedding dress back in 2011.

Whose tiara did Kate Middleton wear?

It’s not unusual for members of the Royal Family to wear items from the royals who came before them – with Kate Middleton paying tribute to the late Princess Diana with her diamond-encrusted pearl-drop earrings and Queen Consort Camilla honouring Queen Elizabeth II by wearing the same necklace that the late Queen wore to her own Coronation in 1953.

But on this occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a headpiece that was specifically designed for the event, rather than wearing the Crown jewels we’ve seen her in many times before.

Why didn’t Kate Middleton wear a traditional tiara?

Rumours circulated before the event that Catherine, Princess of Wales, would likely wear a ‘floral headpiece’ instead of a tiara to match the ‘scaled-back’ approach to the Coronation (via The Times (opens in new tab)).

Sustainability has been a theme for King Charles’ Coronation, with he and Camilla wearing existing crowns, rather than having new pieces designed for the event, and many items, such as the historic chairs used at the event, being upcycled for the event, according to a release from the Royal Family (opens in new tab)

It could also be assumed that Catherine’s choice not to wear a crown or tiara is a nod to the hierarchy within the Royal Family, as the King and Queen Consort were the only members that wore crowns or tiaras on the big day.

How much is Kate Middleton’s Coronation headpiece worth?

At the time of writing, it’s not known how much the Princess of Wales’ Coronation crown is worth – though we’re imagining the collaboration between two such prestigious creators – Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen – will have a high value.

Who is Jess Collett?

While Alexander McQueen is one of the most iconic fashion designers of our time, enjoying a pre-existing relationship with the former Duchess of Cambridge, designing her wedding dress in 2011, Jess Collett may be a new name for those outside the millinery world.

However, it comes as no surprise that Catherine decided to collaborate with the London-based millinery giant, as she’s worked with some of the Princess’ favourite brands including Jaeger, Jigsaw, Emilia Wickstead, Anna Mason and Mimi Holliday.

Jess has been working as a couture milliner for the past 25 years creating high-end and expertly crafted hats. She says of her work, “I believe hats have the power to transform your style and mood.”

Jess has worked with a whole host of celebrities, including Madonna, Rita Ora, Pippa Middleton Helena Bonham Carter and Thandie Newton, as well as fellow royal Princess Eugenie.

Kate Middleton braves the January weather in a stylish tartan coat

The Prince and Princess of Wales were back to royal duties on Thursday, and the couple paid a visit to Royal Liverpool University Hospital to thank those working in healthcare and mental health support during the winter months.

Kate Middleton looked as stylish as ever, sporting a smart navy midi dress from one of her favourite fashion brands (opens in new tab), Cefinn. The Princess paired the dress with a matching navy belt and navy heels, but her tartan coat stole the show.

Here's Why Kate Middleton Didn't Wear All-Black to the BAFTAs

On Sunday, Kate Middleton and Prince William attended the BAFTAs in London. While most women wore black dresses on the red carpet, in support of the Time’s Up movement — much like at the Golden Globes — the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a dark green gown with a thin black sash around her waist.

The Duchess wore a Jenny Packham gown and carried a Mascaro clutch.

Middleton’s black sash is likely a nod to the Time’s Up moment, which seeks to end sexual harassment in the workplace, across every industry worldwide. However, as a member of the royal family, Middleton isn’t allowed to show any political affiliation or bias, so wearing all-black might have been considered a breach of protocol.

Prior to the BAFTAs, Daily Mirror correspondent Victoria Murphy noted that Middleton would likely choose a dress “that is black with some colored/metallic detail.” However, the Duchess of Cambridge opted to wear a dark hue of green, with black detailing. This is probably her compromise, on a night that saw almost everyone don black outfits.

For comparison, last year, the Duchess wore a black gown, with floral detailing:

Over 200 members of the film industry signed an open letter, published on Sunday before the BAFTAs, to launch a UK initiative inspired by Time’s Up. Emma Watson donated $1.4 million to the new legal fund that, like its US counterpart, aims to support people affected by sexual harassment.

To further support the launch of the Justice and Equality Fund, women wore black on the BAFTAs red carpetand several actresses were accompanied by activists.

This is the fashion advice that Kate Middleton has given Meghan Markle

From the editors of LOOK

We have no doubt that Kate Middleton – a seasoned royal – has been showing Meghan Markle the ropes over the past few months, with the actress explaining in her engagement interview that the Duchess of Cambridge had been ‘wonderful’.

But it seems like Kate’s advice isn’t limited to tips on etiquette and secrets for how to get on with the family, it also extends to royal fashion advice.

And on closer inspection, we can definitely tell.

While the 36-year-old Suits actress has brought a sense of millennial style to the royal family (even wearing high fashion sheer couture in her official engagement photos), if we look closely we can tell that Meghan has actually been changing her look since joining the royal fold – and it’s all down to Kate.

Following in Kate Middleton’s footsteps, Meghan has started using her wardrobe to spread an important message.

Kate predominantly wears British designers, a tribute to her home country, but when meeting international leaders or traveling overseas on royal tours, she mixes British and international designers to give a nod to both her home country and the country that she is visiting.

This advice applies to Meghan Markle more than anyone, with the actress seeming to consciously mix British and Canadian brands and designers in her outfits over the past few months to show respect to both countries.

While she’s American, Canada holds a special place in her heart due to the fact that she spent years filming Suits there.

Starting the trend at her official engagement appearance when she teamed a Parosh dress with a coat by Canadian brand, Line The Label, Meghan has been mixing designers ever since.

While visiting Nottingham with Prince Harry in December, the actress teamed her skirt and boots by British brands Joseph and Kurt Geiger with a coat by Canadian brand Package. And in Brixton earlier this week, she donned a stunning salt and pepper coat by Canadian brand, Smythe, teaming it with an M&S jumper and a pair of Burberry trousers.

Does this mean we could see a Canadian-British designer mix for the big wedding day? We’ll have to wait and see!
