Lily Allen has entered her most stylish era yet and I want to recreate every look she wears

Over the years Lily Allen has never been one to shy away from a fashion moment. Since breaking into the scene in the early 00’s, in a swirl of ball gowns and Nike air max trainers, she’s pushed the boundaries of red carpet dressing, street style and on stage outfits (remember the tulle gown, trucker cap combo she wore at V Fest? Iconic).

These days, however, Lily’s entering a new fashion era, turning away from trainers and instead opting for a more luxe style. Currently staring as Katurian in the West End production of The Pillowman, she’s been exiting the theatre each night in a host of scene-stealing outfits that have everyone, myself included, sitting up and taking notice. Opting for designers like Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini and Alessandra Rich, her chic styles combine both the quiet luxury trend of the moment as well as hints of Lily’s signature eclectic style.

These Super Stylish (and Comfortable!) Flats Are on Pointe With the Balletcore Trend

According to our Textiles Lab and Dr. Grace Torres-Hodges, a board-certified podiatrist and owner of Torres Hodges Podiatry, here’s what you should look for:

✔️ Style: Make sure there is ample toe space. Narrow flats can cause a lot of discomfort, says Sachs. Pointy-toe flats typically don’t leave enough room for the toes, especially for anyone with bunions. Take note: A deep toe box is different than a “wide” shoe size.

✔️ Fit: Taking extra care when you try shoes on is your best bet to finding a comfortable pair. In our most comfortable heels guide, Dr. Torres-Hodges recommended trying on shoes at the end of the day because your feet are more swollen in the afternoon and evening.

✔️ Material: Leather is top quality but will be more expensive, according to Sachs. Faux leather and polyester materials are common but may cause your feet to overheat.

✔️ Comfort: “Don’t rely on a break-in period,” Sachs says. Shoes should feel comfortable right away. Some flats have cushioned footbeds and support for more comfort.

✔️ Sole: Look at the outsole of the flat. “A rubber outsole helps improve the shoe’s durability and can offer more traction if you plan to wear the shoes on longer walks,” says Senior Textiles Analyst Emma Seymour.

Kate Middleton braves the January weather in a stylish tartan coat

The Prince and Princess of Wales were back to royal duties on Thursday, and the couple paid a visit to Royal Liverpool University Hospital to thank those working in healthcare and mental health support during the winter months.

Kate Middleton looked as stylish as ever, sporting a smart navy midi dress from one of her favourite fashion brands (opens in new tab), Cefinn. The Princess paired the dress with a matching navy belt and navy heels, but her tartan coat stole the show.

Kate finished off the look with a dark green handbag from Mulberry, and wore her brunette hair in her signature waves. As for make-up, the royal kept things simple with a subtle eyeshadow look and a glossy lip.
